Dasara is not a normal Mysuru sightseeing week. Processions, illumination traffic and temporary road controls can change familiar routes, so a simple plan works better than a long attraction list.

Plan around the event, not the map
Select the procession, palace area or illumination experience that matters most, then build the rest of the day around it. Crossing the centre repeatedly is likely to waste time during peak periods.
Make pickup easy
Choose a landmark outside the most restricted street when possible. Share the driver's number with every adult, keep phones charged and agree on a backup meeting point in case mobile networks are busy.
Allow for last-minute changes
Traffic diversions and vehicle access can change on the day. The final drop may be a short walk from the intended place, and the driver may need to approach from a different direction.
Ask for a complete quotation
Confirm the operating hours, parking, waiting allowance, late-night terms and any festival-related route limitations. Accommodation and event admission are separate unless written into the final quotation.
